Sneak Peek!

Bonnie and Weldon are married! On September 18th they said "I do" at the McMaster House in Mississauga. The whole day was beautiful and I had such a great time with them.

Here's a little taste from their big day!

Ashley & Mike

My friends Ashley and Mike are MARRIED! And, as I said I would, below are some shots I took at their wedding.

The ceremony was at St. Andrew's Church in Oakville. I was definitely tearing up a lot, especially when Ashley entered the church on the arm of her dad. She looked stunning! My breath literally caught in my throat; she was breathtaking.

And talk about the perfect reception venue! The Ancaster Old Mill was a m a z i n g. There was a gorgeous waterfall out back that we could see while eating dinner and enjoyed every time we went outside.

It was such a lovely day and I'm so happy I was able to share it with them.

Now I just can't wait to hear all about their honeymoon. They're going to Jamaica via Orlando where, after Ashley convinced Mike, they'll be hitting up The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!! Best honeymoon ever?! Uh, yeah!

Here comes the bride

And they're married!!

Did I not say it was an incredible waterfall?!

All you need is love

Two of my friends are getting married tomorrow!!

I cannot express my excitement. I'm sure to take some photos in between tears and glasses of wine that I'll put up as soon as I can (ie. when the hangover recedes). However, to give you a little taste of Ashley and Mike, below are some engagement shots I took of them last year. I can't believe how quickly times goes by - the day is finally here!

Now I'm sure at least some of you are thinking "They're getting married on September 11th?! (collar pull) It should be a day of mourning, not celebration!"

But you know what? I think it's time to start putting a little love into September 11th again. We should, of course, never forget the many lives that were lost or those who lost loved ones on this day in 2001. It was tragic and horrible and the memory of it will last forever. But maybe it's time to start viewing this day with a little hope, a little love and, yes, a little celebration.

So we'll be celebrating tomorrow. We'll celebrate the beautiful union of two amazing people as they start their lives together; we'll celebrate friendships of 5, 10, even 20 years!; and we'll celebrate life and health and love.

Here's to Ashley and Mike! It's going to be a wonderful day.

Weldon & Bonnie

A few weeks ago I did an engagement shoot with a very fun couple, Weldon and Bonnie. It was such a good time! They're a great couple and I really enjoyed my afternoon with them.

We went to a lovely park right on the beach in Mississauga. It was the perfect location complete with gorgeous willow trees, the beautiful water and tons of adorable ducks. We really couldn't have asked for more.

Next Saturday is their wedding (!!!) and I'm really excited to be sharing their day with them.

Darling Family Fun!

I recently did a shoot with my friend Aron and her lovely family (the Darlings!). It was the perfect day at the Beach and Aron's two beautiful daughters seemed to have a great time running around the park. Both girls are so much fun!

I could take photos of these gorgeous little ladies all day and not get bored. Not only are they completely adorable - Shayne with her stunning eyes and Piper with her sweet giggle - but they compliment each other perfectly. So much spunk and energy from Shayne; while Piper adds a bit of calm with mood and an air of maturity.

There are so many favourites from this shoot, below are just a select few. What a Darling family (I couldn't resist!).

My favourite photo of the day. So sweet!

Two more of my faves - what gorgeous girls!

Shayne really wanted to search for crickets or butterflies. Hmph.

Sisterly love!

Inspirations

My favourite photographer who continues to inspire me is Natalie Hooper of ByNatalie.

Based in Wales, UK, Natalie has always been an artist, creating beautiful life drawings, paintings and prints. Continually looking for new outlets for her artistic talents, Natalie picked up a camera and has yet to put it down.

Her work is unreal. She has this incredible ability to really see the subject of her photos and bring out the very best part of them.

I was lucky enough to work with this incredible woman for three months last summer. As her apprentice, I got to see how she does it - from start to finish - and was in awe seeing how the whole process unfolds. I'm so appreciative to have been given such an incredible opportunity.

She is the "photographer with the artists's eye" and her work is truly breathtaking.
