Fog!

Fog took over the city today. It was pretty creepy, actually. Slowly slinking off the lake and swallowing the boats, the buildings, the airport, the cars, even the Rogers Centre. It was eerie.

The Toronto Island Airport is completely smothered!

Konrad & Caroline - Engagement

Konrad and Caroline are incredible! Even though it was a (very) frigid day in Ottawa, they weren't phased at all by any idea I threw at them - not even when I asked them to play in the snow; throw snow around; and, eventually, fall into the snow and lie there while I get the shot! They just had fun together, smiling the whole time... even if they did end up covered in snow and freezing cold! What more could I ask for?!

We all had such a fantastic time. I love that Konrad and Caroline were not scared to do something different and just really had fun with the shoot. Add that to the fact that they're so clearly in love and happy together and you have one amazing couple!

They really were a complete dream to photograph. I loved every minute of it! And cannot wait to photograph their wedding in October!

(If you missed the sneak peek of their engagement shoot, make sure you check it out!)

Jes - Maternity

My beautiful friend Jessica is PREGGERS!! And, although she was only about 4 months when I was in Ottawa, we did a mini maternity shoot!

Jes is such an amazing lady and is going to be a fantastic mom. I had so much fun with her and am excited to take more maternity photos when she's showing even more!

And, of course, I can't wait for the little bundle to arrive in July!

Sneak Peek!

In celebration of Valentine's Day, here's a lil' taste of a really fun engagement shoot I did with an amazing couple in Ottawa. Konrad and Caroline are awesome! A darling couple, so happy and in love, who were up for anything. I had such a great time with them!

Adulthood, here I come!

I'm 26 but don't really feel like an adult yet. I clearly am one, or am becoming one at any rate. I'm hoping to buy a house with my fiancé this year and, potentially (money dependent!), get married next summer. Two huge steps in life that kind of define you as an adult.

And although, I may not necessarily be excited to be growing up and becoming a full-fledged adult *gulp* I am pretty excited about a lot that comes with it: House hunting! Wedding planning! Babies!! (....ok, so really - the main things I don't like about being an adult are money and bills. Duh. Way to be original, Mia.)

We've started the house hunt - looking at houses, townhouses, condos. We're not going to actually buy until later in the year but what's the harm in looking and seeing what our money can get us?

My wish list:
- 2 - 3 bedrooms
- 2 bathrooms
- good amount of outdoor space to entertain
- dining room
- hardwood floors
- stainless steel appliances in a nicely done kitchen
- closets (walk-in, please!)
- good neighbourhood (ideal? Leslieville)
- close to transportation
- close to grocery stores, restaurants, bars, life!

I don't want much, right?! ha! It's called a wish list for a reason, people! I know I'll have to compromise on something...ok, a lot of things. Especially in our price point. But a girl can dream!

So here's to growing up and adulthood! It's pretty much upon me, might as well embrace it and enjoy the ride.

I'm ENGAGED!!!

My boyfriend and I got engaged just before Christmas and I'm still on a high.

It wasn't a surprise to me since I went with Darryl to pick out my ring; but I didn't know when it would actually happen, so I was definitely caught off guard when he got down on one knee and proposed. It was amazing! I'm so happy and still can't quite believe it!

We haven't picked a date yet but know the wedding won't be until the summer of 2012. We've been saving to buy a house and are still planning to do that this fall, so we'd rather wait until next summer to say "I do" so we don't go completely broke!

Nonetheless, I'm so utterly excited! I love weddings and cannot wait to plan. I have so many ideas and a vision of what I'd like... now I just have to get started!

And now, here's the rock - an aquamarine gemstone we had custom made. I love it!!
